Coaching staff
Coach chewie
I started playing rugby in 2019 at Texas A&M. I have played for multiple All-Star teams, Round Rock Rage RFC, and I currently play for the Houston sHARCs and the Indigenous Warriors. I’ve specialized as a Tighthead Prop, but I also have experience playing all forward positions in 15s and 7s, and Flyhalf and Center in 7s. I was briefly an Assistant Coach for Texas A&M from Fall 2021-Spring 2022, before leaving for a semester, and returning as a Co-Coach in November 2022. Additionally, I’m an Assistant Coach for the National Champion NCR Lonestar Armadillos All-Star 7s Team and a Manager for the U23 Central South Mustangs 15s Team.
Coach blair
In my playing career I played both 15s and 7s. For 15s my primary positions were 9, 11/14 and 15. Other position I’ve played is 10. I have also had a game at 7. For 7s I played 9 or wing. I have coached all ages from Minis to HS boys and girls solely with the Katy Barbarians. The past few years I have worked with a few teams as a referee to help with law knowledge and so I could practice my refereeing in a controlled environment. Those teams include the sHARCs, HARC men’s, and with Sabercats 2s. The majority of my coaching has been in 15s however with the Katy Barbarians HS girls program I was solely a 7s coach. My current focus when I’m not coaching is refereeing, I am currently part of USA Rugby Referees Regional Development Group, as well as being a MLR assistant referee.
Coach STEPH
I began playing rugby in 2020 for Texas A&M until 2022. I took a hiatus from playing while I got my Masters in Biomedicine. I returned to rugby this year to play for Round Rock Rage RFC and to begin my first year as a coach for Texas A&M Women’s Rugby.
